CIWM projects about 1,200 delegates from more than 50 countries for 2026. That is an organizer estimate, reported when early-bird registration opened (via Waste Management World, Feb 2026); the congress has not happened yet, and there is no prior UK-hosted edition to benchmark against. Organizer copy describes the room as practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and academics across five program themes: human rights, political commitment, waste planning, the economics of waste and resource management, and circular economy. No exhibitor or delegate company list has been published.
How large is the event?
Organizer projection only, since the congress has not occurred. CIWM anticipates about 1,200 delegates from more than 50 countries, per its registration-opening announcement covered by Waste Management World (Feb 2026). No verified attendance figure exists yet, and as the first UK-hosted edition in three decades it has no comparable prior-year UK number.

Before you book
The early-bird window closed on 24 Apr 2026, so standard pricing runs through 1 Oct 2026 and last-chance pricing applies from then to the event. Student, low-income-country, and speaker rates sell only in the early-bird and standard windows, so anyone in those categories should book before 1 Oct 2026. The Gala Dinner is on Tuesday 10 Nov. Site visit and technical tour tickets had not gone on sale as of late Aug 2026.
